RT Reviews FireDrake!
February 27, 2009 on 6:00 am | In Dragon Knights | No CommentsI mentioned this in passing yesterday, but I thought I’d give you a little more info…
Gail Pruszkowski of Romantic Times BookReviews Magazine said:
“The newest in D’Arc’s Dragon Knights is a showcase for an ensemble of wonderfully drawn human and dragon characters. Magical adventure and passionate romance combine for a riveting read.”
Thank you, Ms. Pruszkowski! I do believe that’s the first time any reviewer has used the word “riveting” in regards to one of my books! Wow!
The full review is in the latest issue of RT Magazine and the book is available now in ebook formats and will be available in print at the end of March.
Scorch: Winner’s Choice!
February 26, 2009 on 6:00 am | In Contests | 14 Comments
The winner of last week’s Scorch is:
Jacki
Congratulations! Email me within 30 days at biancadarc at live.com to claim your prize.
And may I say, I think Valentine’s Day as a “special” holiday is a bit over-rated. Judging by the comments to last week’s Scorch post, many of you feel the same. Good to know I’m not alone!
Now for the final Scorching February contest of this year…
The prize this week is the winner’s choice of any ebook from my backlist! To enter, comment on this post and tell me something about your reading habits. Do you read on the way to work? Do you read AT work? (LOL!) Do you read at night before going to sleep? Whatever you want to tell me about when and how you read. I’m interested!
And now I’m going to gratuitously talk about FireDrake. Why? Because it just got an awesome 4 star review from Romantic Times! Also, I just got the shiny new author’s copies of the print version that hits bookstores at the end of March. And finally, because I just started working on my next dragon book, so I’m in a dragony mood. Look for FireDrake – available in ebook right now and in print next month!
A knight most unexpected…
Fifteen years ago, Drake left everything behind for a life in the shadows. While it broke his heart to leave his grieving dragon behind, serving Draconia as head of a network of spies suited him better. Far better than never quite measuring up to Mace, the “perfect” knight his father wished he could have been.
Mace has always done his duty, and done it well. Drake, his childhood friend and rival, was the charmer who effortlessly stole every woman who caught Mace’s eye. Some things never change—not one day back in town, and Drake’s already putting the moves on Krysta, the woman Mace has been courting.
And now the three of them have taken on the dangerous task of rescuing a kidnapped prince.
With each day that passes on their perilous journey, Krysta sinks deeper into the complicated relationship between the two men and their meddling, matchmaking dragons. Mace is clearly the safer choice for a mate; yet Drake tantalizes her with that unpredictable gleam in his eye. When the three of them come together, any sense of torn loyalty burns away in nights of fiery passion.
The safety of the stolen prince hanging in the balance, Krysta accepts the challenge to unite two strong men—and their dragons—into a real family.
If the fire within doesn’t burn them all to cinders first.

Amazing Australian News!
February 22, 2009 on 2:32 pm | In Awards | 4 Comments
Awesome news! I heard today from some friends Down Under that my book, Lords of the Were, had been named the winner of the ARR Favourite Erotic Romance eBook of 2008!
ARR stands for Australian Romance Readers and the award was given at their first annual convention in Melbourne. Back when the convention was first being discussed, a few of my Aussie friends tried to talk me into going. I would have loved to… but I just couldn’t.
I felt really bad about not being able to attend and as a result, I’ve been remiss in not getting a little more invovled in the proceedings. Totally my fault due to a combination of factors including: 1) not being able to be there in person, which made me blue, and 2) desperately needing organizational assistance. I’ve been saying for about a year now that I REALLY need an assistant. I can’t afford one, but I NEED one in a BIG way. LOL
But that’s neither here nor there. The bottom line is, I’m honored and humbled by the award and just thrilled to pieces too! That Snoopy up there happy dancing (if the image file works) is me!
Many thanks to everyone who voted for the book and to fellow Samhain author, Jess Dee, who accepted the award on my behalf. I can’t thank you all enough!

New Sale: Inferno
February 15, 2009 on 12:43 pm | In Paranormal Tales | 2 CommentsNot sure if I mentioned this yet or not, but Samhain Publishing has contracted book 2 in my Tales of the Were series, titled Inferno. It’s Dante, the bad ass vamp’s story. We first meet Dante in Lords of the Were, as well as his half-fey friend, Duncan, who plays a large role in this book as well.
It’s one of my longer works, weiging in somewhere around 100,000 words, so fans of the series will be happy with more to read. We begin edits soon and the book will hopefully be out in ebook formats this Summer, with print to follow in 2010.
Happy Valentine’s Day!
February 14, 2009 on 6:00 am | In Holidays | No CommentsHere’s to the memory of St. Valentine – a priest who married Roman soldiers in secret because it was forbidden for them to marry. Seems the emperor thought unattached soldiers made better fighters. Silly emperor.
