New Cover: Inferno

May 8, 2009 on 8:00 am | In Covers, Paranormal Tales | 3 Comments

Check out the new cover for Tales of the Were 2: Inferno. It’s the vampire, Dante d’Angleterre’s story. His lady is a werewolf and the book is scorching hot! The only thing possibly missing on the cover is their friend and magical helper, the fey warrior, Duncan, who plays a key role throughout the book.

The artist, Anne Cain, said she wanted to avoid the overused vamp/were sybology but still give it an edgy, paranormal feel with the magical flames (which also play a key part in the story). So what do you think?

Update

Members of my chat group will know that I’ve been talking a bit about a new project. I was approached recently by an editor, to write a novella for an upcoming anthology. The only drawback, the novella must be on a topic that I’ve never really delved into before: zombies.

Yes, that’s right. I said zombies. Hoooo, boy.

In contemplating the project I ran into two major questions – First, do I want voodoo zombies or some kind of “infected” zombies? And second, how does one make such a story into a romance?

Being a former scientist, I decided to go the infectious disease route. And just for fun, I added a military angle. (I always love a man in uniform. LOL) But the question remained… how do I make this kind of thing romantic?

I’m not going to give away the whole plot here, but I think I’ve found the perfect way to do it. I’ve been writing the story for the past week or so and it’s come together nicely. I just have a few finishing touches to put on it, then it’s time for some self-editing, followed perhaps by a quick read-through by a friend who is also an editor, and it’s done.

If the editor who asked for this story likes it, I’ll be able to give you more information then. For now, wish me luck! It’s not usual for me to write a story “to order”, as it were, but I’m really enjoying the challenge.

On The Radio…

Catch me on the radio on Monday night, May 4th at 9:30pm Eastern Time. Here’s the link:

http://www.blogtalkradio.com/Whats-Hot-In-Romance

That’s the All Romance Ebooks radio show, which was recorded live at RT last week in Orlando, FL. I’ll try to be in the chat room that is attached to the internet radio site to answer questions, but because it was recorded in FL, I don’t think the call-in features will be working.

Tune in! (I already forgot what I said, so I’ll be listening too – just to find out what I talked about!) :D
