Lori Foster’s Get Together This Weekend!
June 4, 2009 on 6:00 am | In Appearances | 2 Comments

I’m heading for a fun weekend in Ohio with readers and authors at Lori Foster’s annual Get Together. I hope if you plan to be there, you’ll look me up. And if you’re in the area, the book signing on Saturday is open to the public! It’s from 2-4 pm at the Mariott at 6189 Mulhauser Road, West Chester, OH. Hope to see you there!

Haircuts Aren’t Easy
June 1, 2009 on 10:50 pm | In Just For Fun | No CommentsI found this article online about what haircut to get to flatter different shapes of face. It gives celebrity examples that are kind of interesting but the guidelines are a little vague and kind of broad. I’m interested in this topic right now because I usually get a new style (or try to) right before each conference appearance I do.
Last year for RT, I got hilights for the first time in my life. I should explain that I’ve never been very adventurous with my hairstyle. For many years I just kept it long and was happy with that. My boyfriend liked it. Any time I would talk about cutting it, I was shot down. (Men really dig long hair.)
When I broke up with that boyfriend, one of the first things I did was go out and get my long hair chopped off. It was an act of defiance that still makes me smile when I think about it today.
In the years since, I’ve done minimal things to my hair. Sometimes it’s longer than others and the bangs come and go, but the color remains the same. I figure I’ll keep my natural color until I can’t anymore (when gray moves in).
I’ve had hilights done and I’ve experimented with reddish color rinses once or twice, but nothing drastic. I just don’t know what to do with my hair to give it real pizazz. I’ve always wanted to try a “makeover” where the stylist gets free reign, but I just don’t know any stylist I would trust that much! LOL.
This year for RT, I tried a new stylist and I should’ve taken my cue from her haircut, which was long and kind of flat. I ended up with long and kind of flat.
Now I’m getting ready to head off to Lori Foster’s weekend event and I want something bouncy and fun. Time to try a new stylist who has bouncy and fun written all over him or her! I’ll keep the guidelines from the article in mind, but I’m just not sure what I’ll end up with. Will I be daring? Or will I stick with the status quo and the same old layers, just shorter? Only time… and the stylist’s shears… will tell.
