Brotherhood of Blood
One & Only started as a 5,000 word short story that earned Honorable Mention in a writing contest way back in the Fall of 2005. The publishing company that sponsored the contest (which is now out of business) liked the story so much, they offered my first-ever publishing contract for it. So you could say that this is where it all began, though technically, it was my 2nd book to actually be published. (The first to make it to market was Maiden Flight in February of 2006.)
When that publisher went out of business, the story was expanded to a novella, and republished with Samhain Publishing, where it remained for the life of its contract. Now it has been given another incarnation, with a new cover and republished again. Now that they are no longer with competing publishing houses, the Tales of the Were and the Brotherhood of Blood series are free to intertwine and mingle as the story requires, and are now coming under the overall heading of Tales of the Were.
